About Us
Crown of David exists to honour Our Lord Jesus Christ under His title as King of Israel and All the Holy Land, the title of civil power which He inherited from His ancestor King David (Luke 1:32). Though this website is Catholic in its presentation, our aim is that it should have something for Christians of every tradition who share its vision.
Crown of David promotes the display, in accordance with accepted practice, of original designs in Royal Arms and Insignia and in monarchist flags and Regalia. These are available on our Catalogue page. A series of heritage products in commemoration of the Royal House of David and in honour of Christ the King is currently being planned.
Crown of David aims to provide auspices for activities consistent with its object of honouring Jesus Christ in His hereditary title, by means of art, music and every other form in which royal honours can be expressed. We are particularly interested in exploring the Jewish roots of the Christian faith.
Crown of David upholds the values of family life especially, since it was through marriage and family that the hereditary Throne of David was passed on from generation to generation, until it came to Him for whom it was destined.
Crown of David appeals to all who are Christians according to the faith of the Athanasian Creed, and who share the vision that Jesus Christ ought to be acknowledged as the national King of the modern State of Israel and of the wider Holy Land, so that all must submit to the rule He exercises by divine power, in civil things as well as spiritual. Crown of David, as such, takes no position on any political matter or claim, but sees the Jewish people, the Holy Land and all its people - Jews and Gentiles equally - as Christ sees them: as the special object of His most excellent patriotic love. We stand only for the hereditary Crown rights of the King and for His righteousness, insisting on equal rights for all His loyal subjects.
When He said, "My kingdom is not of this world," He did not intend - as some blindly and almost incomprehensibly misunderstand Him - that He denied His kingdom to be in this world. He affirmed it to be in this world, but not of it; that is, that the source of its authority, the fountain of its jurisdiction, the sanctions of its laws, the powers of its executive, are from His Eternal Father. It therefore does not derive its authority, sovereignty, jurisdiction, powers, rights, from this world. All these are not of men, but of God. They are not the grants or concessions of kings, princes, legislatures, nor do they come from the multitude by universal suffrage. They are of God, delegations of the Eternal King to His Incarnate Son. They are supernatural, divine, intangible by human control, imperishable and sovereign over all. Crown of David extends a special welcome and blessing to our Jewish visitors, our elder brethren in the faith of Abraham. It is our hope that, by visiting this website, they will be encouraged to remember God's covenant with David and to reverence his imperishable Throne and the Royal Family to which it is committed, whoever - and wherever - they may be. They are especially invited to visit our page showing our designs for the Arms of the Tribes of Israel.
Crown of David offers this website and all its work in reparation for the mockery of Jesus' hereditary title as King of the Jews, which was shown Him when he was crowned with thorns.
All power in heaven and on earth has been given to Jesus Christ, to raise up nations and to cast them down at His pleasure. He has the right at will to reserve to Himself the Kingship of any nation He chooses, thereby taking for Himself the title which in a Gentile nation would belong to an earthly Head of State. Though He is well able to intervene both spiritually and coercively in the affairs of nations including His own, He in fact limits Himself to spiritual intervention only, communicating to the minds of men the truth concerning right and justice, until He comes again.
Christ has made known by divine revelation that He has inherited from His ancestors the Crown of Israel, the people from whom He took flesh, and that the times and limits of every nation - Israel and Palestine included - are determined by His providential decree (Acts 17:26). We see the restoration on 14 May 1948 of the political independence of the State of Israel as a visible earthly sign of God's faithfulness to His ancient covenants with Abraham and David, and of His infinite Mercy, to confer an hereditary title on His incarnate Son, by which He serves His native land and people as the Shepherd and Father of all His Israeli and Palestinian subjects.
This does not in any way affect the legitimacy of earthly governments as constituted by law, since those which rule in the Holy Land have been appointed by Him, and are answerable to Him, with the power of Regency until He comes again to judge the living and the dead (Romans 13:1-7). We regard these as truly Royal governments of a special kind, and we look forward to the day when all Israel will be saved as she recognises her Messiah and, hopefully, adopts those emblems and insignia which reflect the fact that she is a Messianic Kingdom.
Crown of David invites Messianic Jews and Gentile Christians of the Holy Land, of whatever denomination, to find in Our Lord Jesus Christ not only peace with God through the forgiveness of sins, but also reconciliation with one another in Him as their national King.
Holy Mass is celebrated monthly for our benefactors.
