MONARCHIST STATE FLAGS OF ISRAEL AND PALESTINE

The Monarchist flags for Israel and Palestine intended to be reserved for use by government authorities consist of the respective national flags defaced by the State Arms. Save for the transposition of the second and third quarters the Arms are identical on both flags, since they signify the Kingship of Christ, which is uniform throughout the Patrimony of David.

MONARCHIST COMMUNITY FLAG OF THE ARMENIANS IN THE HOLY LAND

National minorities which live in countries of different nationality sometimes combine their national flags with the symbols of the host country. In the former Yugoslavia it was common to see displayed in public Italian, Hungarian and other flags of national minorities defaced with the Red Star.

The Holy Land is home to a number of two identifiable minorities which are neither Jewish nor Arab in origin, besides the unique Druze Arab community.

The Armenian community in the Holy Land dates from the earliest years of Christianity and consists of 2,000-3,000 Armenian families resident at the Patriarchate in Jerusalem (the Armenian Quarter) and another 2,000 elsewhere in the Holy Land, mainly in Bethlehem, Jaffa, Haifa, Ramleh and Ramallah.

The flag is a horizontal tricolour of red, blue and orange with the Crown in the centre of the blue stripe.

MONARCHIST COMMUNITY FLAG OF THE CIRCASSIANS IN THE HOLY LAND

The Circassian (Cherkessian) community in the Holy Land are offered a Monarchist flag identical to the national flag of their homeland in the Russian Federation, Adygeya. It consists of a green field symbolising Islam, with twelve stars for the twelve Circassian tribes and three crossed arrows symbolising their brotherhood and bravery. The flag is defaced with the Crown of David, though in view of the fact that the entire community is Moslem, they are offered a variant on which the Crown lacks the Christian augmentations.

The original flag is further described on the Flags of the World website.

MONARCHIST COMMUNITY FLAG OF THE DRUZE IN THE HOLY LAND

The Druze consist of some 100,000 Arabic speakers in 22 villages in northern Israel. They profess a unique religion which is kept secret from outsiders. Since their identity is inseparable from this religion, they are offered only a flag of non-Christian use. It consists of four horizontal stripes of red, yellow, blue and white. In the hoist is a light-green triangle bearing the Crown in gold.

MONARCHIST COMMUNITY FLAG OF THE RUSSIANS IN THE HOLY LAND

Since the collapse of the Soviet Union large numbers of Russians migrated to Israel. They included persons who were halakhically Jews, but also very many who claimed to be Jewish but were not, as well as their close non-Jewish relatives entitled to Israeli citizenship by positive law. They number about one million - of whom half are estimated to be non-Jews - out of a total population of six million. These non-Jewish Russians are assigned a flag based on the national flag of Russia, a 3:2 horizontal tricolour in white, blue and red, the blue stripe defaced with the Holy Crown of David.

MONARCHIST COMMUNITY FLAG OF THE SAMARITANS

The Samaritans (Shomerim) are a community of some 650 persons divided between the Neveh Marqeh settlement in the Tel Aviv suburb of Holon, and their historic temple site at Kiryat Luza on Mount Gerizim, near Nablus. They are the descendants of the ancient Northern Kingdom of Israel, specifically of the half-tribes of Ephraim and Manasseh, and are the oldest and smallest religious sect in the world. The flag designed for them by Crown of David is based on the flag of Israel with the Menorah substituted for the Magen David with the Holy Crown of David set above it.
